Pinterest is looking to improve creator discovery by adding a new “Profiles” tab within the Pin search, which will highlight relevant creators for any search term.
As you can see here, the new Profiles tab will help users identify specific creators, whether that’s in username searches, or within topic and product categories.
This will enable Pinners to find the best creators for each topic, which will help improve the creator’s offering, and increase their presence.
Pinterest initially announced its new Profiles tab in October, as part of the Creators’ Festival, but it’s now available to more users globally, increasing the app’s discovery capabilities.
Like all platforms, Pinterest keeps its best creative talent, and keeps its most popular users posting more often, in order to maximize user interest.
Pinterest launched $500,000 Creator Fund in April last year, an initiative that is expanding through 2021, while it also launched the Creator Rewards program in October, which offers incentives for creators to participate in changing challenges related to activity in the app.
Once again, with every platform vying for attention, all social apps are looking to offer the best incentives to better align prominent voices with their apps, and with TikTok and Instagram making big pushes into e-commerce, Pinterest is in danger of losing its top stars, if it just can’t. on the competition.
Which is why it needs to provide more tools and more exposure, and this new search tab will help connect Pinners with relevant influencers and experts anywhere.
